Quick Easy Home Made Yoghurt
Super Easy home made Yogurt
Yogurt is great for breakfast, healthy snacks, lunches, with desserts and fantastic with curries.
I have used this very simple way to make yogurt for years now and it comes out great every time. I use a wooden yogurt maker that is really just a box with a light in it or you could use a wide mouthed thermos, a hot water cupboard or your slow cooker or turn your oven on low, then turn it off and leave the yogurt overnight. In summer I put outside wrapped a towel (as light will destroy some vitamin content) and just leave until set.

How To:
- Bring one pint (600 ml) of milk to the boil, cool until it is just lukewarm.
- Add 2 Tablespoons of plain yogurt from the store - make sure it is plain yogurt with the live culture in it and not fruit mix or anything else. Best to buy a slightly more expensive purer yogurt as you can use it quite a while to make several batches.
- Stir to disperse evenly and pour into a clean, sterilized container or glass jar.
- If you prefer thicker yogurt then add several tablespoonfuls of powdered milk.
- Leave to incubate until set in your method of choice for incubation - overnight will give you fresh yogurt for breakfast
- Delicious with a drizzle of liquid honey over and Granola (see previous post)
- Fantastic to use with your curries, casseroles too !
